Artwork shown is an original oil painting of Saint Carlos Acutis I recently finished. He will be officially canonized on September 7th, 2025.
I painted the sports numbers “136” on his shirt because while living on earth Carlos documented 136 Eucharistic miracles - all recognized by the Catholic Church. Also, since he is the saint “connected” to the internet, I painted the Wi-Fi symbol on his shirt. And lastly, the halo around his head is of course symbolic of his status of sainthood recognized by the Church.

ABOUT ST. CARLOS ACUTIS
Carlos Acutis was born in London in 1991. He was an Italian teenager who died from leukemia at age 15. He had a deep Catholic faith, love for the Eucharist and passion for using technology to evangelize.

MIRACLES
Carlos Acutis was attributed two healing miracles for his canonization.
One of them was the healing of a boy from Brazil named Mattheus who suffered from a pancreatic condition. He was very underweight. Eating was extremely difficult and he was not expected to live long. His mom prayed at a prayer service for Carlos’ intercession for her son. Later the boy said he was healed and began to eat solid food.
The second healing was of a young woman from Florence named Valeria Valverde. She had a biking accident. Doctors were unsure she would survive. Her mother prayed for her at Carlos’ tomb in Assisi. Soon after Valeria began to breathe on her own and the hemorrhage went away. Valeria began to gain some speech and mobility again.
